Answers about the service, the migration and billing.
01
General
What is Nephelo?
Nephelo is managed WordPress hosting for agencies and freelancers. Every site runs on an isolated server in EU data centres, with the infrastructure and the migration handled by our team. Read the Nephelo story.
Who is it for?
For agencies running many client sites, for freelancers who would rather leave server management to a technical team, and for businesses that need managed WordPress hosting.
Is Nephelo still in beta?
Yes. During the beta you have a direct line to the team, and your feedback shapes how the service improves.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. There is no lock-in — you can cancel from your account whenever you like.
02
Speed and infrastructure
What performance can I expect?
We aim for a load time of around 0.4 s, TTFB under 150 ms and Lighthouse 95+. That comes from OpenLiteSpeed, LiteSpeed Cache, Redis object cache and NVMe storage, all tuned for WordPress.
Are the resources isolated or shared?
Every site runs on an isolated server, with its own RAM and NVMe storage. It does not share its plan resources with other sites.
Where is the data hosted?
In data centres inside the European Union. Your data stays in Europe.
What uptime do you provide?
We provide 99.9% guaranteed uptime, and continuously monitor the availability and performance of every site.
03
WordPress and WooCommerce
Is it suitable for WooCommerce?
Yes. Redis object cache, NVMe storage and our database tuning help most on the dynamic pages of a store, such as the cart and the checkout. See WooCommerce hosting.
Who handles the WordPress updates?
We take on WordPress core, PHP and server updates, along with the security and monitoring of the infrastructure.
Do you support staging?
Yes. Every site has a staging environment for testing updates, plugins and changes before they reach the live site.
Which PHP versions are supported?
We support the actively maintained PHP versions with OPcache enabled. You choose and change the version per site from the dashboard.
Can I install any plugins and themes I want?
Yes. You get a full WordPress installation and can use whatever plugins and themes you need.
04
Migration
Do you handle the migration? Is it free?
Yes. We migrate files, database, email and settings free of charge. You review the site on staging before we change the DNS. See how the migration works.
Will my site go down during the migration?
No. Your existing site stays live while we work on staging. We only change the DNS once you have finished checking.
How long does the migration take?
Usually 24–48 hours for one site, depending on its size and your current provider. For many sites we agree a separate schedule.
Which providers can you migrate from?
We can migrate from providers using cPanel or Plesk, managed hosting and custom environments. All we need is access to the files and database.
What happens to my email?
We migrate the email accounts and set up the necessary DNS records, so mail keeps being delivered.
05
Pricing and billing
Do the prices include VAT?
No. VAT is added at billing, where it applies.
How does annual billing work?
On annual billing you pay for 10 months instead of 12. You are billed once a year and the service is identical.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, whenever you like. You can move to a larger or smaller plan as your site's needs change.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes, with no lock-in and no cancellation fee. If you need to, we'll help you export or migrate your sites.
Do agencies pay the retail prices?
No. Every agency gets personal wholesale pricing based on the number of sites it runs. See the agency solutions.
06
For agencies
How do I bill my clients?
You pay the wholesale price and decide what to charge your clients. The difference is your margin, and Nephelo stays in the background.
How is the wholesale price worked out?
It depends on how many sites you run. As the volume grows, the price per site comes down. We finalise it with you after you sign up.
Can Nephelo collect my clients' subscriptions?
Coming soon You will be able to choose whether we bill your clients automatically. If you prefer, you can continue handling the payments yourself.
Can I give access without Nephelo branding?
Yes, optionally. You can give your client access without Nephelo branding appearing.
How many team members can I add?
You add members and set roles and access per site. Each collaborator sees only what they need to.
What happens if a client leaves?
You can stop, export or migrate that particular site. Your other sites are unaffected, since each one runs on its own isolated server.
07
Support
What support do you provide?
Our team takes on the infrastructure and also helps with technical issues on your WordPress site.
Do you fix technical problems on my site?
Yes, by arrangement. We look into plugin conflicts, PHP errors and problems in the code. We don't take on updating content, products or images.
In what language, and what hours?
Support is provided in Greek and English. The infrastructure is monitored 24/7, so we catch critical availability problems.
What's the response time?
During the beta we reply within office hours. Critical issues, such as a site being down, take priority.
08
Security and backups
Do you take backups? How often?
Yes, daily. Each backup covers the site's files and database, and can be restored with one click.
Do you provide free SSL?
Yes. Every domain gets a free SSL certificate from Let's Encrypt, renewed automatically.
Do you provide DDoS protection?
Yes. Cloudflare filters malicious traffic and DDoS attacks before they reach your site. Every site also runs on its own isolated server.
How does the infrastructure help with GDPR compliance?
Data is hosted in data centres inside the EU. You keep control of it, and we help with everything on the infrastructure side.
